The seminar, “Advanced Materials and Additive Manufacturing for Sustainable Energy and Personalized Health,” presented by Professor Yanliang Zhang from the University of Notre Dame, introduced recent advances in smart manufacturing techniques that enable precise multi-material printing for energy and sensing applications. He discussed high-throughput development of flexible thermoelectric materials for energy harvesting and the fabrication of bioelectronics for continuous health monitoring. Professor Zhang, who holds a Ph.D. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, focuses his research on additive manufacturing, sustainable energy systems, and wearable devices. He has received the NSF CAREER Award, the Young Investigator Award from the International Thermoelectric Society, and has published widely in top scientific journals.
