We gathered various international exchange highlights from our lab this month!

From June 3–5, the 6th UT² - Mac Student Workshop 2025 was held at the University of Tokyo. Coinciding with this event, Sunny Liu from Naguib Lab and Mehdi Sadeghi from Golovin Lab at the University of Toronto visited our laboratory. Both the University of Tokyo and the University of Toronto share the abbreviation "UT," hence the playful name "UT²"—quite clever and fun! A special ladies’ lunch was also held in honor of Sunny's visit, joined by Tomita-san from Kinefuchi Lab and Takai-san from Mouterde Lab. The proportion of female students in Mechanical Engineering at UTokyo remains low, so we were surprised and inspired to learn that at the University of Toronto, this number is approximately 40%!

Additionally, we are delighted to host Damien Pierce, a PhD student from Söderberg Lab at KTH (Sweden), Ognyan Stefanov, a PhD student from Wehmeyer Lab at Rice University (USA), and Professor Vasili Perebeinos from the University at Buffalo (USA), who are currently visiting our lab for collaborative research in ASPIRE-EXAR project! (for details, visit https://exar-nano.com/)

We also took a group photo with Gregoire from École Polytechnique (France) and Beomsu from Hanyang University (Korea), who will soon return home after their internship period.

These exchanges have been incredibly valuable, and we look forward to maintaining our connections and future research collaborations!
