Multiscale Dynamical Wetting

"Droplet wetting a solid" is omnipresent in engineering applications (eg. inkjet printing, biofluid dispensing). Although theories on contact line dynamics have been established, the dynamics of rapid wetting (the movies bellow) and influence of surface nanostructures are not well understood due to its highly non-equilibrium and mutiscale nature. We aim to identify the key physics and use the knowledge to control the wetting dynamics.
